Location: Thailand

Location: Thailand: Friendly and food-obsessed, historic, cultured and curious, it tempts visitors with a smile as golden as the country’s glittering temples and tropical beaches.

Thailand: located in the centre of mainland Southeast Asia and within the tropics, it encompasses diverse ecosystems, including the hilly forested areas of the northern frontier, the fertile rice fields of the central plains, the broad plateau of the northeast, and the rugged coasts along the narrow southern peninsula.

Climate: temperatures are relatively steady throughout the year, averaging between 77 and 84 °F (25 and 29 °C). The greatest fluctuations are in the north, where frost occasionally occurs in December at higher elevations. Marine influences moderate the climate in the south. The northeast, which is cooler, produces frequent morning fogs. Humidity is extremely high during the rainy season.

Education: is provided by a well-organised school system of kindergartens, primary, lower secondary and upper secondary schools, numerous vocational colleges, and universities. The private sector of education is well developed and significantly contributes to the overall provision of education which the government would not be able to meet with public establishments. Education is compulsory up to and including age 14, with the government providing free education through to age 17.

Thailand is a popular destination and most western tourists visit Bangkok and the historical, natural, and cultural sights in its vicinity. In addition, many tourists travel to the southern beaches and islands, while the north is the chief destination for trekking and adventure travel with its diverse ethnic minority groups and forested mountains.
