About the Position

Teaching and Learning Co-ordinator – Sri Lanka.  BrightSpark Teachers have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and qualified Maths Teacher based in Colombo, Sri Lanka.

This position is to work with an established service provider whose aim is to help close the social attainment gap by recruiting a global community of academic talent to make effective online teaching more accessible than ever before.  To achieve their goal, they recruit and train academic talent from across the region and are based in Sri Lanka to teach children in schools across the UK.

Candidate requirements and accountabilities:

Must be an experienced Maths Teacher with a subject related degree

Must hold UK qualified teacher status; Primary and/or Secondary Mathematics, with a solid understanding of pedagogy and the UK mathematics curriculum

At least two years experience working within UK schools

Have experience in mentoring and coaching others in an education setting

Love learning, be patient and have excellent interpersonal skills and high levels of emotional intelligence

A proven track record of incorporating ICT into classroom teaching

A strong self-drive to succeed and a strong sense of responsibility

About the School

Established in 2012, our client has delivered half a million online lessons to over 45,000 pupils in thousands of schools. They have connected pupils with specialist maths tutors who give pupils the opportunity to question and discuss concepts in maths, building their confidence and understanding for the long term. They record and analyse each lesson to improve and adapt at scale for greatest impact. They also obtain regular feedback from pupils and teachers which is constantly helping to shape their online classroom and makes their intervention as robust and effective as possible

Qualification and Requirements

Candidates must be an experienced Maths Teacher with a subject related degree and hold UK qualified teacher status; Primary and/or Secondary Mathematics. Candidates should also have experience in mentoring and coaching others in an education setting and possess good interpersonal skills.
